Lykins Companies Makes
Investments in Local Area Students
The
GUY B. AND MABEL LYKINS
scholarship is named for the founders of Lykins. Each year Lykins
Companies gives away thousands of dollars to local area high school students in
pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.
The primary criteria in the selection process is
that the student must be involved in community service above and beyond what is
considered for graduation. Applications are distributed each Spring to all the area high schools throughout the
Lykins heating oil customer base.
Lykins Companies believes the students we
invest in today, will be our future employees of tomorrow.
In addition to what Lykins Companies gives through
the
GUY B. AND MABEL LYKINS
scholarship awards, we also help to support other scholarships given by
various other community groups.
Lykins Companies supports local schools with human
resources. Several of our employees are volunteers in the "Partners in
Education" programs throughout the Clermont County School District. These
employee volunteers are paired up with a teacher for an entire school year. The
volunteer speaks to students regarding the petroleum industry and the types of professions needed to run the business.
The volunteers also assist the teacher with various projects whenever
needed.
